She holds a court with 14 girls (damas) and 15 boys (chambelanes) which including herself would equal 30 people, or, 15 couples (to represent each year). This too has changed you can have 15 boys (chambelanes) only or however many damas and chambelanes are available you always have some that back out so don’t feel bad if you don’t have all 15 couples. At the party the court does many waltzes they usually are in this order: The entrance waltz, the doll waltz this represents the last doll she will receive, the coronation and the issuance of the high heel shoes from mom (this represents that this is the first time she is allowed to wear them as with makeup), the main waltz, the father daughter dance, the toast this is where mom and dad speak to give thanks and to say some very special words to the Quinceañera, then an optional surprise dance.
